Home Health Nurse RN/LPN Job Description:

We are looking for an empathetic and patient home health nurse to administer medication and create an ongoing report on the patient's progress. A home health nurse's responsibilities include working with other healthcare professionals to create treatment plans, ensuring that patients stick to treatment plans, and monitoring patients' vital signs.


*To be successful as a home health nurse you should have patience as well as be empathetic towards patients and their families.

 Home Health Nurse Responsibilities:

CNA Job Description:

The job description varies dramatically, as their duties depend upon the work environment. They are usually found in clinics, hospitals, care for patients at home and living facilities. Responsibilities vary on the set of environments. CNA’s major responsibilities include daily activities such as dressing, cleaning, assisting, grooming, and transporting the patients. The nurse directs them to take care of the patients. CNA’s are responsible for the comfort of patients to feel safe and to respond to their needs. They assist the medical staff in communicating about the patient’s condition and their concerns. CNA’s duties involve the following:

  • Assessing the patients: They check patients for wounds, bedsores, and bruises. They report to the

nurse staff if anything is found unusual. They help change non-sterile wounds for dressing and
provide heat therapy or ice packs to the patients depending on their requirements. CNA’s monitor
the reactions of patients.

  • Patients’ vital take: They monitor the patient’s vitals such as pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
    when needed and communicate to the team as per concerns.

​

  •  Communication: CNA’s respond to the patient’s call and their concern. Details are provided through
    handwritten or electronic services.

​

  • To help them move: They help the patients to move and to get them out of bed. Transferring
    patients to tables and prevent them from bedsores.

​

  •  Patient’s hygiene: They maintain patient hygiene by helping them to bathe and groom. Patients are
    given bed baths, and they help to change their clothes.

  •  Assisting with toileting: CNA’s help the patients to change their catheter bags, thus helping them to
    use the toilet. Few other duties involve caring for patients by changing their pads, diapers, and
    bedpans.

  • Helping patients to eat: CNA’s assist patients to eat and drink as when needed. Their duty involves
    tracking of food and water intake of patients.

​

  • Cleaning patient’s room: Cleanliness of patient’s room is the due responsibility of CNA. They help
    with laundries, regular change of bed linens, keep the room tidy, and restock the room as per
    required medical supplies.

  • Prevention of infection spread: They seek safety devices to prevent the spread of infection as per
    standard precaution. They are guided to use the personal equipment appropriately, such as masks,
    gloves, etc.

  • Additional responsibilities of CNA: As per the request of superiors, they help with admitting and
    discharging patients. They also help with post-mortem and also able to administer the medication

Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will:

​

  • Write articles for Their Voice’s monthly e-mail newsletter.

  • Update the TV website with any organizational news as well as upcoming events.

  •  Develop content for social media including videos, photos, and cerebral palsy-related topics.

  • Cover special events and fundraisers (possible attendance at some events may be required)

  •  Manage TV website pages and ensure that material is up-to-date and fresh.

  •  And other relevant duties as assigned

 

Qualified candidates will possess:

​

  • Experience using cameras and phones for photography and video is highly encouraged.

  • Applicants should also have experience with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut.

  • The ideal candidate would be an undergraduate student majoring in communications, electronic media, public relations or marketing.

  • A strong interest in non-profits, photography, and video is a plus.

Grant Writer Intern

The Grant Writer Intern will:

​

  • Research and identify prospective corporate, government and foundation donors for grant solicitation.

  • Write accurate, comprehensive, and compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry that conform to all requirements set forth by various funding guidelines, including: re-creating editable forms, assembling financial documents, creating program budgets, etc.

  • Manage the preparation, submission, and tracking of assigned grant proposals, observing strategies and procedures for tracking grant research, solicitation, and progress in shared Excel database.

  • Collaborate with President and Chief Operating Officer to assist in the preparation of grants.

  • Maintain hard copy and computer database records of all grants submitted and received and research.

  • Track deadlines to ensure grant applications, renewals, letters of inquiry and reports are submitted on time.

  • Maintain a standing, weekly meeting (1-2 hours) with President for planning, reporting and strategy.

 

Qualified candidates will possess:

 

  • Great organizational, follow-up and communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office, Creative Suite, and Mac skills

  • Non-profit experience is a plus

  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a busy environment

  • Takes initiative to get things done quickly and accurately and can work productively unattended

  • Exhibit a high level of confidentiality relating to donor and members

  • Ownership of his/her responsibilities

Development Intern

The Development Intern will:

​

  • Assist with all aspects of development

  • Maintaining Sponsorship database

  • Developing, running and analyzing reports

  • Research prospective funders and funding opportunities, process donations, from receipt to thank you letters

  • Researching and assisting with grant applications

  • Assist with organizing special events for donors, members, and the public

  • Develop marketing materials, such as flyers or brochures

  • Perform general office tasks as assigned

 

Qualified candidates will possess:

 

  • Great organizational, follow-up and communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office, Creative Suite, and Mac skills

  • Non-profit experience is a plus

  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a busy environment
